Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a concern for almost every commercial building owner. Odor complaints, mold concerns, moisture intrusion and preventive maintenance drive most indoor air quality surveys. Understanding and communicating the issue is 90 percent of the battle.

Some tenants are particularly sensitive to odors, mold or subtle changes in the indoor environment. ESSEX believes that the best way to manage this issue is to establish an annual preventive maintenance program of IAQ evaluations with additional specific responses to individual occupant complaints.

The ESSEX approach is a hands-on, practical approach. We do not promote excessive sampling and fully understand that guidelines and "standards" may not provide the necessary information for all recommendations. We focus on operational analysis of the building and building systems, comfort and health issues and the implementation of practical, cost effective solutions.
