Essex provided commissioning for the full campus and LEED registration services, which ultimately achieved LEED “Gold”. The campus included a new 90,000 square foot 5-building campus. An Indoor Air Quality Management Plan controlled airborne contamination during construction and facilitated the buildings’ flush-out during commissioning prior to occupancy. The commissioning included all mechanical systems, lighting, controls and hot water systems. |

Essex is the Commissioning Authority for this $43MM new construction project located in the southeast. The facility combines laundry and dietetics functions, each of which has critical isolation requirements through building pressurization and source of outdoor make-up air and controlled building exhaust. Essex commissioning services are responsible for design review, verification of owners project requirements, development of prefunctional and functional checklists, the commissioning plan, TAB verification, training, and operations and maintenance manual. |

Essex audited 200 buildings for energy and water conservation savings. Essex personnel provided energy modeling using eQuest supplemented with hand calculations or Excel generated worksheets to provide energy consumption profiles and payback analysis for Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECOs). A select number of eQuest models were advanced to ASHRAE Level III Audits in depth and were validated with energy (utility) bills and other site data gathering. |
